Chaos, Earth, Order, Wind
Vesin Thalar is known throughout the realms as the Guiding Hand. The most widely accepted religious texts claim that amongst the gods, Vesin Thalar was the first to come to be. It is said that he pulled himself together from the Chaos of the beginning. He is responsible for maintaining balance between the chaos of the realms. While there are hundreds of gods spread across all the religions, Vesin Thalar is considered the most powerful of all the Wind and Earth Gods, due to his control over Balance and Chaos. More often than not, Thaldians will pray to one of the many minor gods, instead of Vesin, when it comes to matter of Earth and Wind. This is due to his intense and conflicting need for both Balance and Chaos. Regardless of his current mindset, it is believed that he is the most fickle Gods.
His followers tend to stem from those that have seen their fair share of chaos or monotony. There are many monk orders that will speak highly of his domain, regardless of their actual religious views. Because of the extreme dichotomy of his domains, almost all of his followers have an issue with living up to all the ideals of their god. Most of his devout followers that pray for a balance under the Guiding Hand, come from monk orders or law enforcement groups. His devout followers that pray for chaos under the Guiding Hand, are typically lifelong criminals, mentally insane, or quite possibly both.
"Balanced are the ripples of chaos." "Chaos is the law of nature; Order is the dream of man." "Be steady like the earth but ever-moving like the wind."
Common Phrases used by Followers of Vesin Thalar
Vesin Thalar is considered his own greatest enemy at most times, but has also been involved in some "incident" with nearly every other major deity at some point or another. His plans are often conflicting and amazingly enough will work out regardless of whether or not it they work out as he planned. His organization is also often at odds with itself, with its many branches acting independently with each other, and with little insight into what each branch is attempting to achieve.
Vesin's goals are for Balance and Chaos to each continue to shape and change each other, guiding the world forward into an unknown future. Should anyone attempt to halt this evolutionary path in a way that would affect the realms, Vesin will personally step in and put an end to what he sees as a universally dangerous act. The last time such an incident was witnessed, was when he intervened in a meeting between the Archivist Guild and the Council of Supernals on Ozos. How or why he sees such acts as dangerous, only he knows, though this secret surely has peeked the interest of Kasper Amon.
Vesin believes that the best way to drive his goals forward, are to ensure that both Balance and Chaos exist at all times. For such purposes, he created the Order of Chaos. The Order is a dynamically growing a shrinking organization of many different branches, each with their own goals and objectives. Most members of the Order of Chaos come from varying monk orders throughout the lands, and none of the branches of the Order are aware of the plans or goals of any other branch. During each year, each branch will recruit only two new agents, and whether they are agents of Balance or Chaos are determined by the branch itself.
Should two branches have conflicting goals, they are both expected to act in their own best self interest. In this way, the branches themselves act as a series of checks and balances for each other branch. Failure of a branch to act in its own self interest, would be perceived as a failure to live up to the expectations of their god. At most the a member of one branch, would recognize a member of another branch via recitation of the Rhyme of the Order of Chaos.
Ride the waves of the Wind Trance. Endure with the strength of the Earth Stance. Dance the moves of the Chaos Dance. Strike with the purpose of the Ordered Lance.

The Horizon It is said that somewhere in the world, lies the Horizon. Yes, the one true horizon. A layer that seperates the earth and the sky. This layer is considered sacred ground to all followers of Vesin Thalar, despite their own lack of knowledge as to whether it is real or just a story.
